Yes. Country Boy Trades is a participating Hunters for the Hungry processor, a Tennessee Wildlife Federation program. Call (615) 604-3887 every time before bringing a deer, in every season. Complete the Federation form and tell the shop you are donating the deer.
The Federation describes free processing for whole-deer donations. The shop charges an additional $45.00 for deer brought in without field dressing. Ask the shop how donation-program coverage applies to that additional fee; a waiver has not been confirmed.
No. On a donated deer the hunter does not get that meat back. It goes to food banks, soup kitchens, and shelters.
Only if the deer was not taken in the CWD Management Zone.
For Hunters for the Hungry donations, the Federation says venison harvested in the CWD Management Zone or a high-risk area is tested, and only negative-tested venison is delivered to hunger-relief agencies. Partial donation is not allowed for deer from the Management Zone. Follow current TWRA transport rules before moving a carcass.
